6.13 Faxing by reducing the effect of dust from the left partition glass
(Despeckle)
About the Despeckle
Function that reduces the effect that the dust from the left partition glass has on the scan data when scanning
an original from the ADF.

Detail
The scan speed is slowed.
For details on cleaning the left partition glass, refer to User’s Guide [Copy Operations].
To fax in the Despekle mode
1 Press the [Fax/Scan] key to display the Fax/Scan screen.
2 Load the original in the ADF.
For details on loading originals, refer to "Loading the original" on page 2-6.
3 Touch [Original Settings].
4 Touch [Despeckle].
To cancel the settings, touch [Despeckle] again.
5 Touch [OK].
Returns to Fax/Scan screen.
6 Set other functions if required.
For details on scan settings, refer to "Specifying scanning conditions" on page 2-9 or "Scan
Settings" on page 6-2.
For details on original settings, refer to "Original Settings" on page 6-3.
For details on communication settings, refer to "Communication Settings" on page 6-4.
7 Specify the destination.
For details regarding specifying destinations, refer to "Specifying only one destination" on
page 2-13 and "Specifying multiple destinations (Sequential broadcast transmission or broadcast
transmission)" on page 2-22.
8 Press the [Start] key.
If the fax cannot be sent because the recipient’s line is busy, the recipients number is redialed. For
details on redial, refer to "When unable to send fax" on page 2-31.
To stop the transmission, refer to "Aborting transmission" on page 2-36.
If the fax cannot be sent, refer to "Troubleshooting" on page 4-2.
The scanned original is stored in memory as a reserve job and transmission is started.
