When there occurs any problem listed in the table below, such a trouble may
be eliminated by switching [Software Switch].
The setting of [Software Switch] can be made by pressing the buttons: [MA-
CHINE] - [Controller] - [08 Administrator Setting] - [01 Software Switch Set-
ting] in this order on the control panel of the copier.
All is Off (0) in default of the memory switch.

Note
Be absolutely sure not to switch over SW No. that is not listed in the table.
For the setting of the software switch, you may require some expertise.

Trouble Effect of the switch
(when turned On (1))
1 The paper size is desired to be iden-
tified by using the value of the Crop-
Box while in the PDF direct print.
(Normally, the value of the Media
Box is used as a standard.)
When the value of the MediaBox of
the PDF file is different from that of
the CropBox, the paper size is iden-
tified by using the value of the Crop-
Box.
2 When a number of print jobs are put
together in a file to be printed with
an LPR command, the LPR trans-
mission is terminated in error with
JobAborted displayed.
The print job can be made with no
error occurring. However, the print-
ing speed may get slower. After
switching over, the main power is
required to be turned OFF and ON.
3 It is to be desired that an error page
is printed when a file has been out-
put that is not supported.
An error page is printed when a file
not supported is received (except
PostScript error).
4 When a number of PostScript jobs
are put together in a file to be output
through the Network, it is to be de-
sired that they are output as multi-
ple jobs with CTRL-D used as a job
delimiter.
The PostScript data in a file can be
output as multiple jobs with CTRL-D
used as a job delimiter. Outputting
jobs including font data and the EPS
data may cause error pages to be
output.
5 When PostScript jobs including the
EPS data are output through the
USB port, error pages may be out-
put.
PostScript jobs including the EPS
data can be output. However, the
job will continue until the USB trans-
mission is time-out. (Only jobs for
PostScript)
