SMTP authentication is enabled when the following conditions are met.
- Bit 6 of mode 380 is set to "1".
- When the SMTP authentication user name and password are shared with the POP3 user name and
password, bit 2 of mode 380 is set to "0".
- When the SMTP authentication user name and password are not shared with the POP3 user name and
password, bit 2 of mode 380 is set to "1", and settings for "SMTP Authentication User Name" and
"SMTP Authentication Password" in the Network Settings screen are specified.
- Bit 5, 4 or 3 of mode 380 is set to "1".

For details on specifying SMTP authentication settings for e-mail transmissions, refer to "SMTP TX
Settings" on page 1-12.
If all e-mail authentication methods are enabled (bits 5, 4 and 3 of mode 380 are set to "1"), they will
have the following priority: CRAM-MD5 authentication (bit 5) → LOGIN authentication (bit 4) → PLAIN
authentication (bit 3).
